767K registered for the EMRC electricity tariff subsidy in Jordan

According to the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), 767k accounts have been registered to receive the subsidized electricity tariff for the domestic sector. EMRC data shows that Jordanians wishing to use the subsidized tariff constituted 98.66 percent, while people from the Gaza Strip registered in Jordan reached 1.25 percent, and temporary Jordanian passport holders constituted 0.09 percent.

EMRC said the remaining 135 complaints in the pipeline will be handled as soon as possible. It is therefore imperative that those targeted beneficiaries register on the website as the new tariff is intended to come into effect on April 1, 2013.
